This certificate for the insurance policy outlined here certifies the guarantees defined hereinafter for bookings covering a period no longer than 90 days.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS :

1 %u2013 CANCELLATION:

The underwriter (issuing insurance policy agent) shall refund the policyholder's deposit in the event of cancellation for the following reasons:
a) Serious illness, serious injury or death of the POLICYHOLDER (person who made the booking), the policyholder's spouse, children or children-in-law, or any other person stated in the rental contract; Serious illness or injury refers to deterioration in health or bodily damage preventing the person to leave home or hospital on the day the rental period was to begin, corroborated by a document from the person's employer certifying his/ her incapacity to work and a doctor's certificate stating such illness or injury, and in addition for cure treatments, proof that such care is unconditionally refunded by their social security office, including cure cancellation receipts from the thermal baths establishment.
b) Accidents causing serious damage to the policyholder's home, holiday home, or company belonging to the policyholder occurring before the departure date and imperatively requiring the policyholder's presence at the accident site on the departure date.
c) Impossibility to take possession of the holiday rental due to redundancy or transfer of the policyholder or the policyholder's spouse, on the condition that notification from the employer was received subsequent to the effective date of cover.
d) Impossibility on behalf of the policyholder to reach the holiday site by road or by rail on the departure date or during the following 48 hours due to industrial action or strikes preventing the movement of traffic, corroborated by the Town Mayor of the community in which the holiday rental is located.
e) If the policyholder is forced to cancel or abandon the holiday rental within 48 hours preceding or following the contractual date announcing the beginning of the rental period due to:
i. Insufficient or excess snow for the period beginning December 15 and ending April 1 the following year. This guarantee shall only apply following the publication of an official snow report from a certified organisation, concerning the ski resort in question (if member), or if the ski resort is not a member, the closest ski resort as the crow flies. Lack of or excess snow will be established on site at the ski resort within 48 hours preceding or following the start of the rental period if two thirds of the resort ski pistes are closed following the publication of the snow report.
ii. Pollution or epidemic. The risk of pollution, oil slicks or epidemic will be taken into consideration in the present policy when the site has been declared prohibited within a radius of 5 kilometres from the holiday rental by decision of the local community or prefect during the rental period. This guarantee insures up to a maximum of €304,898 per accident, regardless of the number of cancelled or curtailed stays entitled to compensation covered by the present insurance policy. If accident costs should surpass the sum stated in the policy, the underwriter shall provide a proportional payment.

2 %u2013CURTAILMENT:

The underwriter shall refund the policyholder an amount equivalent to the number of curtailed days due to one of the events mentioned above in article 1 %u201CCancellation%u201D (cf. a, b, e.ii).
CONSULTING THE CONTRACT
The policyholder may consult the contract in its entirety free of charge available at the Rental Agency or the Booking Service Agency.

3 %u2013 CIVIL LIABILITY VIS-A-VIS MATERIAL DAMAGES:

The underwriter guarantees:
a) In the event of fire, explosion, lightening and water damage:
i. Material damages to movable and immovable property belonging to the property owner of the holiday rental and successive loss of rent or possession. The maximum sum paid out under this policy amounts to €1,524,490.
ii. Material damages affecting neighbours and third persons. The maximum sum paid out under this guarantee amounts to €457,347.
b) Other accidental damage to both movable property mentioned in the inventory and found in the holiday rental and immovable property belonging to the property owner of the holiday rental.
The maximum sum paid out under this insurance policy amounts to:
- € 3,049 for theft and/ or vandalism,
- € 2,287 for other damages deductible from the security deposit, with a €46 excess.

EXCLUSION

In this present policy, the underwriter is not responsible for damages indirectly or directly caused by:
- War or invasion (proof that such damages do not result from war must be provided by the policyholder).
- Civil unrest (proof that such damages result from civil unrest must be provided by the underwriter).
- Explosions, nuclear detonation, nuclear radiation or contamination, regardless of how such nuclear activity may have been caused.
- Illegal use or transport of illicit substances.
- Sports activities performed as a professional sportsperson.
- Intentional harmful acts such as suicide or a suicide attempt.
- Cosmetic surgery or treatment, psychiatric treatment or psychotherapeutic treatment.
- Medical advice proscribing certain treatment.
- Illness, pregnancy or any other health problem whose first symptoms appeared before the rental booking.

ACCIDENTS AND FORCE MAJEURE

Except in the case of a fortuitous event or force majeure, the policyholder must notify within a period of 5 days:

The policyholder must provide a photocopy of the booking papers signed by both parties, or proof of the rental agreement or an invoice clearly stating the rental period, rental price and deposit amount paid, as well as a medical certificate, death certificate or proof of payment refusal from the Social Security Office and any other required receipts. The policyholder agrees to allow the underwriter's medical advisor to access all medical files, failing which this clause shall be declared null and void.

EFFECTIVE DATE OF INSURANCE POLICY

Insurance coverage begins from the moment the first payment from the policyholder has been received by the Booking Agency or Service and covers the period of time stated in the rental contract.
